Step one: Own Your Day: Will you own today or will today own you?
Have you ever gone to bed thinking that you forgot to do something that day, or regretted not making time for it? Perhaps you did n
ot make time to go to the gym, or make business follow-up calls, or take your children for a walk, or read that favorite book you want to finish. That is a sign that the day is controlling you, rather than you being in control of your day.
What if you could go to bed knowing that you did go to the gym that day, or read your favorite book, and read a book to your children too before they went to bed, or that you made those extra business follow-up calls, dedicated time for your family, or brainstormed some ideas for that new project you wanted to work on, or even fixed the curtain rod that broke a week ago?
Writing an action plan, where you set your long term and short term goals, can help you accomplish this. Noting what it is you want to do can help you become more complete.
Time can so easily slip away. You may say, “there is no time for this or that,” but really there is time if you control it. You need to have full belief that you control the time in your day. Do not put it off for later. This involves understanding the power of now, and what values and benefits it brings with it.
